Results: This is somewhat of a potpourri of leftovers from previous surveys where I (mercifully?) decided to save them for later rather than add an extra question.

Several of you mentioned that, like me, you liked the TV show "QI" where answers to questions are focused on being interesting as much as being accurate. Here are some images that I hope you find interesting enough to add additional comments below.

MEGA or Make America Great Again seemed a worthy goal when Ronald Reagan chose it as his campaign slogan 40 years or so ago. The implication was that America was once great but was great no longer and needed to be "rebuilt" or significantly changed. Do you agree that America was once great?

This is a child's car seat from a bygone era. I hesitate to refer to it as a "safety seat" for obvious reasons. Parents and grandparents seemed to be quite willing to transport their precious cargo in this monstrosity. What were they/we thinking? Emergency braking could cause this to break loose, although cars of that time made emergency avoidance the best option. Did you ever see anyone use one of these?

On June 14, 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower, in response to the Communist threat of the times, signed a bill to insert the phrase "under God" into the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance that children recited every morning in school. Previously, the pledge—originally written in 1892—had contained no reference to religion. Given that America is a secular nation with citizens of all the world's religions, should The Pledge now revert to its previous wording?

In the late 1960s and early 1970s the achievements in space created such optimism that it seemed quite possible that airline service to the moon would soon become a reality. Air Canada and other airlines provided certificates that would allow the recipient to be first in line for future flights to the moon. Cooler (or less optimistic) heads prevailed once the "bean counters" put a money damper on the space race. If you had one of these certificates at that time, would you have expected flights like this to have become available in the 55 years since the first moon landing?

Some people are addicted to their smart phones and wonder how they could live without one. They perhaps have forgotten that there was a time when these gadgets didn't exist. But there were executives in the Tel Comm Industries over 50 years ago who looked into the future and predicted how ubiquitous phones would become. This is a newspaper article from that time and it is interesting how accurate the predictions were. I find this quite interesting. Do you?
