Results: Being Stalked

I recently heard a lady I know speak of how her daughter, who is set to get married soon, has lately been stalked by a stranger (or, acquaintance at best?)whose attention she's not interested in reciprocating. have you ever been stalked or known anyone who has been or currently being stalked?

Complicating matters for my friend's daughter is that she (the daughter) sells jewelry she makes jewelry she markets on a page of a certain social networking website I won't name here. The complication in this is that. though she can block her stalker from reaching her via her personal page on this website, she can't block him from her business page. Have you ever had a stalker--or another annoying presence--pester you in a public space, be it in real life or online, or known anyone else who has suffered similarly?

Those here inclined to defend the Sybaritic sexual shenanigans of late Playboy Magazine publisher Hugh Hefner, who never let a sizable age gap between him and whatever much younger woman he sought as a conquest discourage him from a seduction attempt, may disagree, but that my friend's daughter's stalker is in her 20's while her stalker is in his 70's is something both moth and daughter find creepy. Same here! Do you find a 70-something year-old man seeking the attention, presumably carnal, of a woman about a half-century his junior skeevy as well?

The situation with my friend's daughter's stalker is apparently bad enough that, when asked by someone else sitting at the table where the mother and I were seated, she wouldn't reveal the date of her daughter's wedding ceremony, lest it be discovered by the stalker and awkwardness and potential danger ensue at the wedding. Have you ever had to be secretive about an important event in your life because someone could spoil it if s/he found out about it., or known anyone else in similar straits?

If I heard the mom rightly, some verbally stern intervention by a preacher in the town where her daughter's stalker has quelled his stalking on the aforeme(un)mentioned social media site. Had I any idea what the mother or daughter should do to halt the stalker's in-person, unwanted presence, I'd have offered advice, but I've no such idea. Based on what you know of your state's or province's laws regarding such things, would you offer any notions about what to do in this situation?
