Results: Ottawa tells CRA to fix its call centre problem so more Canadians can reach an agent

The federal government has ordered the CRA to create a 100-day plan to improve its call centres after growing complaints that Canadians can’t reach an agent for urgent tax issues. National Revenue Minister François-Philippe Champagne said Canadians deserve better, following a CBC report highlighting weeks-long waits and automated messages with no callback option. In response, the CRA admitted it has “been falling short of Canadians’ expectations.”
