A man in a community north and east of Toronto, Ontario was charged with assault after beating a home invader so severely he had to be air-lifted to hospital. The home invader was charged with break and enter and possession of a dangerous weapon. Under Canadian law a homeowner is allowed to use a reasonable amount of force to defend their property but there are limits. Police have come under fire for charging the homeowner. What's your opinion?
