This is a survey about signs. Some are meant to attract (new customers, donations, etc.) and some repel (trespassers or other undesirables). Many successful ones use humor to get the point across. I collect samples in my archives.

In my travels I have come across some interesting sign that were much too inappropriate to show here. Frankly, the ones we have in North America are quite tame yet people still complain if a sign triggers an emotion. I think we are missing an opportunity here. For example (signs I censored) there is the one that shows a dog defecating to deter pet owners from allowing this.without. Another one is targeted at recent immigrants from countries where flush toilets are rare and squatting over a hole in the ground is the norm. The poster showed a flush toilet with someone squatting on it with a diagonal line though it. I doubt if such a direct message would be allowed here. Here are some more subtle posters.
