Every 20th of November we hold a day to remember our fallen brothers and sisters to violence and hatred. We usually light one candle to remember them and their lives trying to be their true selves and ended up being killed or dying to suicide from the constant hatred. You think its time to stop this constant never ending assault against trans people?

The Trans Murder Monitoring (TMM) project by Transgender Europe (TGEU) reported the following figures for reported murders between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025: Worldwide: 281 reported murders of trans and gender-diverse people. Key Findings: 68% of the murders occurred in Latin America and the Caribbean, with Brazil leading the list. 90% of victims were trans women or transfeminine people, and 88% were Black or Brown trans people. 14% of the victims were activists or movement leaders, indicating a new trend in systematic targeting. In the United States Deaths Counts for the United States for 2025 also vary by source: Trans Lives Matter: Reported 41 reported deaths in the United States in 2025. Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE): Their 2025 Remembrance Report ahead of Transgender Day of Remembrance honored 58 known trans individuals. These figures only reflect reported cases, and many murders remain uncounted or misrepresented due to factors like law enforcement and media misgendering victims, which prevents their deaths from being officially classified as transgender fatalities. Do you believe this is unacceptable? Yes

In the US, 1,012 anti trans bills have been introduced in 2025 alone. 49 states, 124 passed, 506 are active, and 382 have failed to pass. Do you think its ridiculous to heavily focus so much time and effort to less than 1% of the population? Yes

Personally I believe most of the public is sick of the culture war and fear mongering in the US and constantly attacking people like myself is becoming much more unpopular given its mostly to distract the disastrous policies that are happening currently in the US. Do you believe its all part of a culture war to distract from actual real problems? Yes

A lot of people don't know or either flat out refuse to learn about trans people and what we deal with. Most who are transphobic will pass us off as people who are mentally ill that need to be locked in an institution or denied our access to medical care and therapy in order to achieve happiness. Even some feel we are groomers or demons that are trying to corrupt children. We are not. We go to work, we go to school, we have families, even children. We aren't some scary walking abomination like some want to believe. We blend in with society, we are like any biological woman or man to the eye. We become the gender we know we feel we are. We just want to live life. But I feel even that is just too much for some. I know Jesus would be ok with us, he didn't hate anyone. God didn't create everyone to be the same, God made all of us unique in our own way. But I've said my peace. Will you light a candle whether you are an ally or transgender yourself in remembrance?
