My husband became a paraplegic 10 years ago from a spinal cord tumor. It took him 8 years to accept during which time he was very angry and bitter but we somehow made it through. People are always asked if you would stay with your spouse if he became disabled and most people say of course. However, the disabled persons personality changes dramatically and can become verbally abusive and can push their loved ones away. My family life has changed dramatically from living comfortably to just making ends meet and never having a peaceful home anymore due to his pain which he will not take medicine for. His pain s relieved by smoking pot.

My husband is pretty self sufficient but needs to be stretched every day as he gets very tight. I Feel there should be more affordable help for this as it is very difficult to do as I am not as strong as I used to be and sometimes feel so very overwhelmed and feel guilty taking some days off from doing it. Would you feel guilty not doing this?
