Results: What would you do for your fellow person?

What would you do for a person finding themselves widowed in what were to be the couples golden years of retirement? After losing a husband to cancer after caring for him for eight years my baby sister sent me a care pkg. of a big spa certificate I would never have treated myself with, a plush dressing gown and memory foam slippers along with some of our old time fave snack treats, a restaurant gift card (I was only able to eat once a day) and some really touching reading and movies to fill my sleepless hours. With pushing from the home care social worker and my Sis I started doing nice things for myself regularly. I hope my friend Charlotte's kids and grandkids spoil her rotten with love and attention.

I have another friend who has been through hell and back in their life and goes the extra mile for anyone they meet. The type of person who did not meet a stranger they did not later call friend and help all they could. Now this compassionate caring person is in pain alone due to a previous injury rearing its ugly head and no immediate family in a position to help or even with emotional resources to aid the situation despite years of support from my friend. What would you do for someone like my friend who is getting on in years, does all they can for immediate family and loved ones but finds themselves alone and in pain? I hope you would say a prayer or offer up a positive thought for my friend who is laid so low. Thanks in advance to the kind people I have encountered on here who I know will give a care.
