Results: L*O*V*E

Some of you have messaged me, asking about my daughter's wedding. The day was beyond perfect. Everything was exactly how we hoped it would be. The weather was perfect (no rain even though the forecast was for heavy thunderstorms), nothing went wrong (although we did expect somethings to not go as planned) and everyone had a fantastic time. Have you attended any weddings this year?

Roya and Sophia's wedding was the wedding of their dreams. It as as unique and fun as they are. Instead of a first dance, they had a first performance, and their wedding ended with a fun, unique twist on the ordinary "recession", which culminated in a big dance party with everyone up. I can't post their videos, but this is a still shot after their "first performance". Do you enjoy when couples choose unique, fun additions to their wedding, instead of the traditional ways of doing things?

They chose to have a buffet, which was a concern of mine (have experienced that stampede of hungry guests lining up to eat), but they had a fun, unique way of releasing the tables. My niece, who was the MC thought of a little trivia game, with the "winners" getting their table called up for the buffet. It was so much fun, people actually didn't mind the wait -- although our cocktail hour had the best appetizers and no one was too hungry. She asked for "the wildest socks" (one of their friends had rainbow socks), "who had their child get married today" (that was of course, won by me) and who had the closest anniversary to their wedding day (one of Sophia's cousins celebrated July 2 -- 2 days later). Have you ever been at a wedding that had a fun way to release tables to the buffet?

Of course, when it came right down to it, the best part of the day was officially welcoming Sophia into our family, although she has been an unofficial part of our family for years. I am so lucky to have the relationship with her that I have, and I know just how lucky I am. If you have a daughter-in-law or son-in-law, do you have a good relationship with them?
