Results: Religion Recruitment.

I live in a big city and from time to time I have people knocking on my door, asking me to join their religion. Do you have door to door solicitation to join a certain religion where you live?

The 2 religions that come to mind are The Jehovah's Witnesses and The Church of the Latter-day Saints ( The Mormons). I have respect for what these people do but I also wonder is it really necessary? and how successful are they in their goal? These days, do you think door to door religion recruitment is outdated, unnecessary, fruitless and it can also be perceived as nuisance to some people?

From working in the hospital, I know that patients who are Jehovah's Witnesses do not accept blood transfusion and certain medical treatments due to conflict with the Bible principals. Do you think this religious belief is unconventional, unfounded and proven fatal in some cases?
