Results: Children Spiritually Influencing Parents

Do you have any children?

If you have children, have any of their actions impacted you in such a way as to alter your belief system/the way you view the world?

In the past year or so, I've leaned of two sets of parents of adult children I know who have quit attending church and, so far as I'm aware, abandoned the beliefs they once held; one couple was what I've observed as nominally committed to their faith while the other were committed enough that they once told me they believed their house to be a place where God would be honored and served by their service to others. In both instances, the parents discarded their previous spiritual bearings due to things their children had undergone. Do you know of any such parents?

Would it at all surprise you that college education and associations the children referenced in the previous question experienced are what, in turn, influenced their effect on their parents?

If you're a parent, how high of a priority is it of yours to instill your values/belief system/worldview into your children in such a way as to ground them in what you believe as best you can?
