Quebec - Old Montreal - A part of downtown Montreal that has been preserved in much of its original state, with the oldest buildings dating back to the 1600s. This historic neighbourhood is a vibrant community and tourist attraction, with hotels, restaurants, shops, residences and commercial spaces. Cobblestone streets, a café culture and historic 17th- and 18th-century architecture all contribute to the quaint charm that stands out among cities in North America. Old Montreal has a history dating back to 1642 when settlers from France landed at the edge of the St. Lawrence River and began to build a model Catholic community. The town became a major trading and military post—at one time surrounded by fortifying walls—and housed Canada's parliament for a few years in the 1800s. This waterside community is today's Old Montreal. Have you ever visited this attraction?

Saskatchewan - Wanuskewin Heritage Park - From the Wanuskewin Heritage Park center, cross the grassy plain and peer over the cliff into the lush Opimihaw Creek Valley below. Close your eyes, feel the wind. It's not hard to imagine this rich ecosystem as a magnet for nomadic Aboriginal peoples of the Northern Plains who, for over 6,000 years, came here to hunt bison, collect food and medicinal plants and escape that prairie wind. The site, which holds spiritual significance, is also home to an ancient medicine wheel. Today, people come from around the world to visit Wanuskewin's archeological sites, home to Canada's longest-running dig, with the University of Saskatchewan doing research here for the past 35 years. Go on a medicine walk, sleep in a tipi, dine on bison stew, take in art and dance performances. Have you ever visited this attraction?

Yukon - Dawson Historical Complex - In August 1896, gold was discovered on Rabbit Creek, later named Bonanza. When word reached the outside world, the Klondike Stampede began. Over 100,000 people started out for the Klondike goldfields and some 30,000 actually reached Dawson City in the summer of 1898. At this time Dawson City was the largest center west of Winnipeg and north of Seattle. A modern community quickly emerged at the junction of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers. Dawson City became the supply and service center for the miners and was capable of providing the newcomers with all that they needed from champagne to oranges. The decline of Dawson City was almost as rapid as its rise and with the development of industrial mining, the days of the individual miner was over. Go lean against the Red Feather Saloon's long bar imagining the ramped-up ruckus when miners came to town, visit the Bank of British North America's polished tellers' wickets frozen in time, or view the ornate woodwork throughout the Old Post Office which offer glimpses into a wealthy boomtown. Dawson City's historic buildings come to life with fun and engaging interpreters on guided tours. Self-guided tours of Dawson's downtown are also available. Have you ever visited this attraction?
