Results: Pied Piper: Fact, Fable, or Fun? (Part 3 of 3)

For decades, Michael Boyer has donned his tights and gone to work dressed as the Pied Piper, conducting tours of Hamelin, Germany. The site of the Grimm Brothers' fable and Browning's poem, "The Pied Piper of Hamelin", the village offers many whimsical attractions for tourists. Have you ever had a job that required wearing a costume every day?

The Pied Piper House (Rattenfangerhaus) was named after the inscription on its side describing the piper leading the children from town, never to be seen again. Although the building is much older, the stone facade dates to 1602, and now houses a restaurant. Have you ever dined in a restaurant that was in a building more than 400 years old?

The restaurant's specialty of the house is "Flambeed Rats Tails". The entree is actually composed of strips of pork loin covered in brown gravy. Chopped red peppers resemble sinews and bits of spinal column, and button mushrooms look like joints. Pimento-stuffed olives represent eyeballs. Are you tempted?
