I love vintage ads, having a few framed ones in my basement family room. However, not all vintage ads are fun, interesting or beautiful. Some are downright disturbing. Here are a few more that take us back to a simpler, frightening time. What do you think of this one, for a product that is still around today, although marketed quite differently these days? Really, what does this say about how society looked at women drivers...

Where to begin with this ad...it has everything not politically correct in this day and age. Let's see, we have spousal abuse, the threat of stale coffee and even a warning to women, all rolled into one disturbing ad. What do you think?

This poster circulated during World War II warning soldiers that women, no matter how "clean" could be the cause of them getting an STD. They were led to believe that not only the enemy on the battlefield was to be watched out for, but women too! Scare tactics indeed. Thoughts on this ad?

While now we argue the benefits of breast versus bottle, this ad from the 70's thought nothing of suggesting our babies would enjoy a good old soft drink. Hey, not only enjoy it, but see nothing wrong with it, even suggesting it can be mixed with milk to make them drink their milk! What do you think of this ad?
