Not all items purchased with my TW "Mad Money" were successful but, since these items were bought on impulse most of the time, I didn't factor common sense into my buying decisions. Here are some items that will end up being donated or sold in our next garage sale (probably the former).

The first marginal product on my list is this "40% Black 6.5'x10'Sunblock Shade Cloth Sun Mesh Shade Net UV Resistant Fabric Netting". I intended to use this to make awnings for the windows on my RV but, since it is "netting" it doesn't hold its shape like a canvas awning would. I also tried cutting it to size and taping it to the inside of the windows. It blocked the suns rays quite effectively but it also was an effective trap for flies, moths, dandelions, dust and anything else in the air. The "40%" it mentions is the reduction in the amount of sun and one can get as high as 75%. For a patio shade it is a fast, effective and cheap solution however I don't have a patio currently. I have about 20 feet left. Sell it, keep it, or garbage it?

My 2nd item is this "2 Inch 5 Zone Lavender Memory Foam Mattress Topper – Calming Lavender – Targeted Convoluted Comfort Zones, Queen" which I hoped would make my lumpy mattress more supportive and warmer in winter. The "calming lavender scent" was eye watering. The memory foam was forgetful and unsupportive and the foam started to disintegrate almost immediately. Have you ever tried one of these toppers and found a good one?
My 2nd item is this
I have never found memory foam to work. Junk it.

This 3rd item seemed a good idea at the time and I thought it "Makes a perfect gift" The recipient of the gift thought otherwise. The product description said "THE COMFY Original Quarter Zip | Oversized Microfiber & Sherpa Wearable Blanket with Zipper, Seen On Shark Tank, One Size Fits All." My wife was able to get it on but immediately started overheating and getting it off was quite difficult. We couldn't imagine it being cold enough to need something this warm but there are people who feel the cold more than we do. We might sell it if people actually buy them. What do you think?

This 4th item seemed a good idea at the time. We were living in a location where power outages were quite common and I thought, if the power went out in the middle of the night, I would like to be alerted to that fact. Then one night the power did go out and the alarm woke all life for miles around including hibernating animals. The noise was so loud it was painful to get near the thing to turn it off. I decided the risk posed by a power outage was less than the risk to health from the alarm. Have you ever bought something that created a bigger problem than it solved?
