I just wanted to share a few products that have made life a bit easier for my family. Some of these, I found myself. Others, however, I found out about from helpful people that shared information with me. So, I am hoping to encourage people to use the comment's section to share products and ideas that have made their lives easier. I do not take the time to post pictures for surveys. So, if you find something helpful to you in the survey, feel free to do an internet search. If you don't feel like reading everything, I've put the questions at the end of each paragraph and also offered N/A as an option.

My adult son struggles with his fine-motor skills. It took years for him to learn the things that he is able to do, but fastening belts isn't one of them. If I do it for him, it takes away from his independence, as he is capable of fastening/unfastening) his own pants. He's slender, but didn't used to require a belt. Now, however, clothing manufacturer's are putting synthetic materials in jeans, so they stretch, and on him... fall down. We were tying 2 of his belt loops together to prevent this, which also made his jeans hang on him oddly. Then, I discovered the no buckle belt. It is a stretch belt that fastens to one front belt loop, goes through the rest of the loops (like a regular belt), and then fastens to the front belt loop on the other side. I have to put the belt on my son in the morning, but since it does not cross across the front of his pants, he needs no assistance with his pants the rest of the day. When his doctor saw it, she said she was going to start mentioning this type of belt to patients with severe arthritis. Have you ever seen a belt like this?

My dad saw something on television regarding a device called the OrCam MyEye Device. He called and told me about it. Unlike the cheap belt, this little gadget is expensive. My mom & dad ended up purchasing one for my son. My son puts on a pair of glasses that have a device clipped to the side of them. He then "looks" at a book, package, paper, etc., and the device reads to him. Do you know a blind (or vision impaired) individual that uses any of the following?

This next one is for me, but don't tell my husband, okay? He doesn't understand that I sometimes have to open jars when he's not home. After years of using the spoon or counter method, the rubber grip thingies, etc., I found a simple plastic device called the Brix Original Easy Jar Key Opener. It breaks the seal and I turn the lid. Do you know someone with small hands, arthritis, carpal tunnel, etc. that struggles with opening jars without using one of the many tricks/hacks or gadgets?
Yes, I open them with nothing but my hands.

No, they're a pain and I use a method, tool, device, bad words, or another person to get them open.

I'd like to end by saying that I am creating this survey in the middle of the night, because I can't sleep. So, if I've made mistakes, I don't care. If anything is misspelled, grammatically incorrect, or even makes absolutely no sense at all, my blurry eyes, fatigued brain, worn out body, and grumpy attitude don't care. :-) But, if you have anything that you'd like to share below that you consider to be adaptive equipment, I'm all ears. Do you have anything to share that would be helpful to other members of our Tellwut community?
Yes, I have something that I think could benefit others.

I can't cure your insomnia, but I'll share a joke in the comments section to put you in a better mood. Hope you've managed to get some sleep by the time this survey has been posted.
