When my mother was alive she pretty much had everything but due to fact she grew up in the great depression she always appreciated a basket of food for Christmas . Most of the items were things she would not buy for herself on a regular basis but she enjoyed them when others bought them as gifts , such as special teas , real maple syrup, a variety of dried fruits , some of the more expensive spices, olives and so forth
