Per the title above, I attended, but did not compete in, the eating competition I'd recently considered entering. Have you ever thought of compering in an event, thought better of doing so, but still attended the event in question? Yes

There are at least two kinds of competitive eating events. The first is a competition wherein contestants vie against each other to see how much of any one item they can consume in as set amount of time, like the Nathan's hot dog-eating competitions. Then there's the competition wherein contestants eat one course after another, with one or more competitors removed after being the slowest eater of each given course. I attended one of the second type. Which have or would you enjoy(ed) watching more?

The foods the contestants at the competition I attended were all things i may have enjoyed, though not in the large quantities I saw them consumed in the relatively brief time I saw them eaten. Which of the following foods, all more or less Germanic fare chosen to promote the Oktoberfest-like-but-also-Hallowwe'en-adjacent event to be held in the same city next month, would appeal to you, however slowly or quickly you want to eat them?
A big, soft Bavarian pretzel and cup of beer cheese in which to dip it (or drink)

Bratwursts and condiments (I missed the first bit of this round, so I'm guessing there were also pretzel buns, as the restaurant sponsoring this part of the contest serves them that way)

I was glad to have attedned the contest; it was vivid enough that I could go on about it much more than I have here, though I may in the comments section. I messaged the winner online to congratulate him, though I told him that viewing the contest convinced me that I made the right decision by not entering the competitive eating fray that morning. I was pleased that he replied and made a friend request of me. Have you ever congratulated a stranger on winning a competiion, whether or not you considered entering it youself and maybe made a friend--at least online--in the process? Yes
