"Any Given Sunday" takes the thrill of victory, the horrors of injury, the excess that comes with sports stardom, and the pressures of legacy, and tosses them all into a violent centrifuge. No matter where you stand on this uniquely American blend of beauty and brutality, Pacino's stirring speech about life "as a game of inches" will get you every time. Have you seen "Any GIven Sunday"?

Based on the true story of coach Herman Boone's efforts to integrate a high school football team in 1971 Virginia, "Remember the Titans" built an endearing cast of young actors around a powerhouse performance by Denzel Washington. The film doesn't shy away from the racist history of American education and athletics, nor the other hardships life offers that can derail promising careers. And yet, it still inspires, and stands as one of the best sports films of its time. Have you seen "Remember the Titans"?

Rudy grew up in a steel mill town where most people ended up working, but wanted to play football at Notre Dame instead. There were only a couple of problems. His grades were a little low, his athletic skills were poor, and he was only half the size of the other players. But he had the drive and the spirit of 5 people and has set his sights upon joining the team. This is a great film about going for your dreams and never giving up. No matter who tells you that you can't do it, no matter how unlikely the chances are, no matter what, make sure you go for your dreams and do everything you can to make them come true. The American Film Institute named "Rudy" one of the 100 Most Inspiring Films of All Time in 2005. Have you seen "Rudy"?

"Jerry Maguire" is more about the behind-the-scenes of pro football than anything on the gridiron (though we certainly do get some gameplay at the end), particularly Tom Cruise's Maguire trying with all his might to secure a contract for his sole client, Rod Tidwell. The role of Tidwell would win Cuba Gooding Jr. an Oscar, in no small part for his iconic line, "Show me the money!" Future Oscar winners Renée Zellweger and Regina King round out the cast.
