"If it's only us is sure is a big waste of space" - from the movie Contact. With all of the possibilities of infinity it's very easy to think life exists elsewhere in the universe. The question is are we too far away from it to actually find it and even if we do what stage of life would that planet be in it's evolution? If we found another perfect Earth like planet exactly like ours out there would life there evolve the same as it did here given the same environmental conditions? Our Solar System is said to be roughly 4.6 billion years old in a galaxy that is 13.6 billion years old. This would suggest that if there is other life, in our own galaxy, we would not be at the top of the food chain so to speak. So maybe the real question is..... Will other life find us first?

In order to make any real progress in our ability to discover we would require a breakthrough in propulsion technologies in order to cover the vast distances in any reasonable time scale. Do you believe we will discover a new propulsion or traveling ability in the next 100 years?

Even with advancements in propulsion technology space is vast! Our nearest galaxy, which will eventually eat the Milky Way alive is Andromeda the next door neighbor at 2.5 Million light years away. To give you a better idea of that distance even with the Starship Enterprise on a 9.99 warp drive (9,000 times the speed of light) it would still take them 300 years to get there!! So something will have to break or be discovered in order to get anywhere outside of our own galaxy. What do you think it will be?

Albert Einstein is proved wrong, you can travel faster than light.

Our intelligent life forms posses the greatest ability of figuring out just how best to kill everyone else. Some say we shouldn't even waste money on space exploration; it will cost way too much and provide very little new discoveries in return. Some say will we destroy ourselves long before anyone else has a chance to do it. What do you believe will be the fate of homo sapiens?

We will eventually enter a nuclear war which will destroy basically every living thing on the planet.

Yea!! We found another Earth close enough for us to actually get to it. So who's going? It's a 20 year trip and there is no return and no guarantee that you will even make it there. You will be placed in a cryogenic state and sleep for 19.8 years. Time will slow at your speed and you will only age 10 years during sleep. Will you sign up?
