My gift card balance is running low after my recent Amazon shopping. On the other hand I now have some neat products I would not have bought with "real money." These might be of interest to TW members.

The first item is a fake car alarm light that is solar powered. It flashes at night to suggest that the car is alarmed (the car has the standard alarm that came with the car that has no flashing light). I think/hope the flashing light will deter potential thieves rather than have them try to break in only to find there is nothing of value. I have had 2 break ins and my insurance rates are higher because of it. What do you think of this item (it cost only $5)?
A flashing light is not going to deter would be thieves.

A loud car alarm going off in the middle of the night is no deterrent if it is triggered by the thief breaking in . This light will make them think twice.

The next items are these LED headlights. My night vision isn't what it used to be and I find the bright white light of these LEDs makes everything easier to see than the yellowish tinged halogen bulbs the car came with. They also use half the power and produce more than twice the light. For $30 for 2, they are a bargain.
The biggest problem with changing the headlights in a car is getting the old bulbs out and the new ones in without having to dismantle part of the car (provide details if this happened to you).

Continuing with the automotive theme, I shelled out less than $10 for these blind spot mirrors. In parking lots, when making lane changes and when merging onto a freeway I find these mirrors are invaluable. I can now spot motorcycles who (stupidly) can be positioned out of sight in the blind spot (more than any other vehicle). Unlike the illustration, I positioned mine at the top of the mirror rather than lower. Have you added something like this to your own vehicle?

Perhaps the most unusual item I have bought recently and the most expensive (for no good reason) was this hair washing basin. My wife had heart surgery and it will take months for the chest wound to heal. During this time, the simple pleasure of having her hair washed really helps lift her spirits and is something that is much easier to do with this contraption. The price was outrageous but chances are we will have other times we will need to use it as time takes its toll on our health. Have you had to buy something unusual because of a health condition?
I bought something like this for my spouse and don't mind doing this for her/him. (any other gizmo - explain?)
