Trivia
Optical Illusions can use color, light and patterns to create images. "Information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain, creating a perception that in reality, does not match the true image."

Underwater waterfall - Maritius is a small tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Madagascar. On the island's southwest, off the coast of Le Morne, is a spectacular optical illusion. Sand and silt on the ocean floor run off in a way that makes it look like water flowing off the edge of an underwater cliff -- or like the entire island is being sucked down into a cavern below. Helicopter rides are available to see this illusion. Have you ever taken a ride in a helicopter?

Horsetail Falls, Yosemite National Park, California - Timing has to be just right to see this illusion. For most of the year, Horsetail Falls is a small waterfall in Yosemite National Park. According to the National Parks Service, something magical happens at sunset near the end of February. During this time, the waterfall looks as if it's on fire. The reflection of the sun hitting the falling water just right makes it look like lava pouring over the edge of the mountain. Not only must the time of day and time of year be just right, but Mother Nature must cooperate as well. If there is even a small cloud cover, it can completely ruin the illusion. It lasts only about 10 minutes. Have you ever visited Yosemite National Park?

Lake Sørvágsvatn, Faroe Islands - Isolated in the North Atlantic Ocean, between Iceland and Norway. This long winding lake tumbles into the Atlantic Ocean via a waterfall. When a photo is taken from the right angle, the steep cliff makes it appear to be hundreds and hundreds of feet "above" the ocean. So, if you are one that loves taking photos, it's a matter of lining up your camera angle to get the perfect shot. According to Interesting Engineering, the British used this illusion to work for them during WWII by building an airport west of the lake. The cliffs surrounding it obscured the airport from view from passing German warships. Do you enjoy nature and capturing dramatic photos?

Baja California, Mexico - This may look just like a pretty drawing of tree branches, but it is an aerial view of the desert in Baja California. In this aerial photo, this is actually a river spreading across the barren, snow-covered desert land. (Image Source: spicedpumpkins/ Reddit) Does this photo look like a drawing to you?
