No one can really say who won the Vice Presidential debate held last Wednesday, but without a doubt, The Fly stole the night away from both candidates. During the debate between the two people competing to become the next U.S. vice-president, Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Mike Pence, a fly landed on Pence's head. The fly lingered long enough for people to notice and Flies, The Fly, #FlyGate and #Fly2020 began to trend worldwide on Twitter in the hours following the debate. Did you hear about the fly incident?

This was not the first time a fly pulled the attention away from the candidates. Back in 2016, a fly pulled focus away from U.S. presidential candidate Hilary Clinton, when it landed on her eyebrow during a debate. Given that Clinton went on to lose that election, some Twitter users wonder if being visited by a fly during a debate is actually bad luck -- call it the "curse of the fly". Do you think the fly could be a bad omen?

The fly has already inspired the launch of Biden/Harris swatters, a number of new Twitter accounts and endless jokes — and also a campaign to get Jeff Goldblum on "Saturday Night Live." In fact, the actor's name was trending on Twitter, along with the term "The Fly," right after the debate ended. Goldblum starred in David Cronenberg's 1986 sci-fi/horror remake "The Fly," in which he plays an eccentric scientist who turns into ...a vice-presidential candidate (joking ...actually a fly). OK, this may offend many on here, but had to post this parody song, which was released right after the debate. If you listened to it (and it has offensive language) did you like it?
