Trivia
As a trivia lover, I love learning new things, and the stranger the better. Who knows when these might come up in conversation?

In the grand scheme of things, a human body seems relatively small as compared to the size of the Earth. So this may come as a bit of surprise, but the arteries, veins, and capillaries of a human child, stretched end to end, are estimated to wrap around the Earth about 2.5 times (the equivalent of about 60,000 miles). The amount of blood vessels in a human adult would circle our planet four times, equalling 100,000 miles. Are you fascinated by facts about the human body?

If you tried a new variety of apple every day, it would take more than 20 years to try them all. If you're the kind of person who appreciates variety and would love to taste-test a new type of apple every day of the week, then you have your work cut out for you.. It would take you more than 20 years to try each of the 7,500 varieties of apples in the world. Only 2,500 are grown in the United States, while Canada has only 40 varieties. How do you like them apples -- or should I ask do you like apples?

Barbie has evolved into a doll telling children that he can be whatever they want -- a pilot, an engineer, a dentist or even a racing car driver. But if you were in a kid in the '60s, you might have owned a Slumber Party Barbie. Talk about setting a bad example. This Barbie came with a scale that showed an unwavering weight of 110 lbs, and included a diet book titled "How to Lose Weight" that had only one piece of guidance: "DON'T EAT!" Of course, this was back in 1965, and today's versions more reflect positive body images and healthy lifestyles. Did you ever own a Slumber Party Barbie back in the 60s?

If you can't function until your first morning coffee, this might be your (ahem) "cup of tea". The largest cup of coffee ever created contained 22,739.14 litres (6,007.04 US gal), and was created by Alcaldía Municipal de Chinchiná (Colombia) at Parque de Bolívar, Chinchiná, Caldas, Colombia in June 2019. In order to build this giant cup, fifty people worked for more than a month on this project. In related news, an American from San Diego, California, set the record for the longest amount of time a human has gone without sleep. In December 1963/January 1964, 17-year-old Randy Gardner stayed awake for 11 days and 25 minutes (264.4 hours). Just imagine how long he could have lasted with a few cups of this giant coffee! Have you ever known anyone to try and beat a world's record (or even succeeded)?

If they put it in a movie, you'd never believe it: John Wilkes Booth's brother saved the life of Abraham Lincoln's son. Robert Todd Lincoln was saved from a gruesome train accident by the brother of the man who would later kill his father. Lincoln the younger, travelling to D.C., ended up on a crowded train platform. He pressed himself against the train to let other people pass, but when the train began to move, he fell between the train and the platform. He might have been squashed if not for then-famous stage actor Edwin Booth, who pulled Lincoln up by the collar and back onto the platform. Did you know this bit of trivia?
