Results: Just A Few Milestone Anniversaries Coming Up

The 2003 movie Elf has become a holiday classic, and my family watches it every year. This year, Elf will be released in the theatres again, to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary. Released on November 7, 2003, it made more than $220 million worldwide, inspired a Broadway musical, and is considered essential holiday viewing for countless people around the globe every year. Fans of the series Doctor Who will be interested to know that this November 23, the show will be celebrating 60 years on the air -- 60 years since the first episode of Doctor Who aired. English actor William Hartnell became the first of many to play The Doctor. While there have been 15 numbered Doctors, the number of actors to have played The Doctor on screen (as in, in a BBC production) is over double that figure. With all the different manifestations and incarnations of the character, there have been 31 actors who have played him. The show is now the world's longest-running science fiction drama. November 22 this year marks 60 years since the assassination of JFK. American President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed by Lee Harvey Oswald as his motorcade travelled through the city of Dallas, Texas. I was a little girl in 1963, but remember my mother crying when she heard the news. Do you remember where you were when you heard about JFK being shot?

This one may not be as familiar and important to many of you, but on October 26, 1993, Canadian group Blue Rodeo released their album "Five Days In July", an album that is probably in my top three of albums ever. I have seen them countless times in concert, and plan on going when they have two Toronto concerts this December to celebrate the album's anniversary.
