Morgan Island, South Carolina, USA. A colony of around 4 thousand rhesus monkeys lives on this Island, that's how this Island got the nickname Monkey Island. Only and handful of researchers from National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) can go there. Would you go to visit the monkeys?

Chichen Itza Pyramid, Mexico. Roughly all sources agree that from approximately 550 AD to 800 AD, Chichen Itza existed mainly as a ceremonial center for the Maya civilization. The area was then largely abandoned for about a hundred years (no one knows reason ), to be resettled around 900 AD again. INAH has been closing monuments to public access over the past several years and visitors can no longer climb them or go inside their chambers. Another fair reason behind the restriction was a couple of accidents. People use to trip or even fall due to the steep steps of the Pyramid of Kukulkan. But you can at least visit it! Would you?

The Ploutonion at Hierapolis or Pluto's Gate, Turkey. Though the exact age of the site is currently unknown, the nearby city of Hierapolis was founded around the year 190 BC by the King of Pergamum, Eumenes II. The site is built on top of a cave which emits toxic gases, hence its use as a ritual passage to the underworld. Ritual animal sacrifices were common at the site. Animals would be thrown into the cave and pulled back out with ropes that had been tied to them. Archaeologists noted that the fumes emitted from the cavern still maintain their deadly properties as they recorded passing birds, attracted by the warm air, suffocated after breathing the toxic fumes. The cave was also celebrated as the portal to the underworld in Greco-Roman mythology. Would you visit this area...least from afar?
