In nature, adaption is often the key to survival of the species. The Alaskan wood frogs have a remarkable adaptation that allows them to survive freezing temperatures by essentially freezing solid during the winter, and thawing out once spring warming begins. This freeze-thaw survival strategy involves a unique process where ice forms between cells rather than inside them, thanks to high glucose concentrations in their cells. These frogs can survive being frozen for up to 7 months, with some individuals surviving temperatures as low as -35°C. Don't you find this adaption remarkable?

In 2017, a 99-year-old Netherlands woman fulfilled a "bucket list" dream - by spending time in a police cell. Most people in custody are not too happy about it, but Annie could not have been more delighted. Annie got the full experience: she was picked up by the police, cuffed, and locked up. She had the time of her life. And in 2016, Edie Simms, a 102-year-old woman in St. Louis, had her dream come true when — upon request — police officers arrested her at the senior center where she delivered her handmade scarves and pot holders. Is being arrested a bucket list dream for anyone here?
