Apples are not native to North America. They originated in Kazakhstan, in central Asia east of the Caspian Sea. Alma Ata, capital of Kazakhstan, until 1997, means "full of apples." Silk Road trade is believed to have scattered the fruit far and wide, eventually reaching North America with European colonists. Did you know the origin story of our apples?

Talk about "convenience"! A baby girl named J'Aime Brown, was born on July 11, 2019 (or 7-11) , at 7:11 p.m., and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. This unique coincidence with the numbers associated with the convenience store 7-Eleven led to the company gifting her a $7,111 college fund. The baby's birth also coincided with 7-Eleven Day, which is celebrated annually on July 11th. And in 2022, a baby boy, Waylon Bush, was actually born on July 11 (7-11) in the 7-Eleven parking lot of a West Virginia store. To celebrate the boy's birth, 7-Eleven gifted his parents 7 years of FREE coffee to help them stay awake on their latest nights (or earliest mornings), plus a gift package of 7-Eleven branded baby clothes and items. Do you personally know of any baby born in the parking lot of a store or even the hospital parking lot?
