I always liked the table from this set because nobody whacked their kneecaps on a table leg, although that central leg was a lot more substantial (and heavy) than it needed to be. The chairs however were quite spindly and, over the years, almost all the chair legs had to be reinforced with Gorilla wood glue. Did you ever have this type of table or know someone who did?

In the 1970s we bought what had been a show house in a new subdivision. It had a few artsy additions that we wouldn't have added ourselves, but one we did like was the saloon doors that gave guests a measure of seclusion from the carnage that was going on in the kitchen. In the next house we owned, we decided to install this type of door in dark wood. This was one of the most unsuccessful DIY projects I have done. The doors didn't quite fit and weren't exactly level (just like the ones in the photo). Our dog and her playmate (our son) liked them however because of the crashing sound they made when they ran through them at full speed (making dents in the walls). Did you ever have this type of door or know someone who did?

There is a suggestion that modern fridges don't last more than a few years when the older ones seem to last forever. The only fridge I had that failed was the one in my RV. My current home fridge is 15 plus years old and noisy but going strong, but I always buy the basic type without an ice-maker or other things that can go wrong. Have you ever had a fridge fail on you?

Green is not my favorite color and especially when the green bottle from this set leaked on everything on the shelf below it. The set had been there undisturbed for many years from the last time my wife made Nanaimo Bars and Midnight Mints for Christmas (10 years or more). These colorings probably have all the toxic ingredients that are now banned so we will consider throwing them out. Do/did you have this set of food colorings or know someone who does/did?
