So many types of surveys out there and it doesn't always feel like you're making a difference. But every so often, you see something different and... a bit later, you see the results in real life. Personally, I love these surveys most because it makes me feel like my feedback mattered (sure, along with several other people's!). I'm blessed with a good job so I don't really care much about the payment of the surveys (though those gift cards around the holidays are nice!), and feel more reward from seeing the results of my (wasted?) time.
1. I recently (maybe 2-3 months ago?) had a survey about a vacuum cleaner and they were testing the messaging of the ad that would go in store around the selling area. And wouldn't you know it, I saw one of the designs in a store close by. It put a smile on my face knowing I took a survey on that and my decision (maybe/hopefully?) made it in real life implementation. Have you ever seen ads (in store, billboards, online...) that you had previously seen in surveys?

2. A friend of mine was in the market to buy a motorbike. Close to retirement, his dream was to get a motorbike and ride the Route 66 as soon as he would retire as a prize to celebrate himself. He took a survey that challenged his ideas of what motorcycle he would buy. About 2 years after that concept test survey, and one month before his retirement, that exact motorcycle was out and... he bought it. No second thoughts. And yes, he did accomplish his dream or riding the Route 66 eventually! Now in Australia riding along with a few friends, he's having a blast! He still recalls the survey that changed it all. Have you ever seen a new product come out after taking a survey about it?

3. Have you ever participated in medical research (clinical trial, treatment trials, vaccine trials...) after recruitment through your regular survey site(s)? (PS: please keep the jokes on covid19 vaccine off)

4. Have you ever participated in product test surveys (i.e. where they send you something at home, you test it and then fill out 1+ follow-up surveys?)

5. Initially this p|ssed me off seeing 60+ minute survey (sure, incentives were better, but still not outstanding!). Reading the invite, I realized it was most of it spent watching a movie. 10 minutes later and a bucket of salted & buttered popcorn in front, I was taking a survey introducing a new TV series. Not exactly my cup of tea for that type of movie, but my wife saw me and started watching with me. She liked it! So my feedback was mixed. Do you like these types of surveys?
