For years transit users have had to unfairly subsidize automobile users. Merchants, Schools, Employers, and Landlords would provide free parking to auto users but not provide an equivalent monetary benefit to transit users. The land wasted for parking cars is a cost that is shared by all users but transit users get no benefit but pay part of the costs. This is unfair discrimination that needs to be remedied
