The wife and I just went to the movie Roofman starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst. It is based off the true story about a man who robbed McDonalds by entering in by the roof, waiting til morning then holding up the place. Interesting story, not a very good movie.
1. Have you heard of this story before this movie came out? Apparently it happened in the late 1990's where he went on a spree of 40 to 60 robberies.

2. Not sure what his real motivation was, but in the movie he loses his wife and family because he can't find work due to issues related to his military service, PTSD. So he starts robbing McDonalds and starts treating his wife and kids to a lavish lifestyle. If you were desperate enough, do you think you might turn to theft to support your family?

3. Overall it was not a great movie. I feel that the trailer misrepresented what it was going to be like. The upbeat music and the childish antics Channing displays in clip form really is not the tone of the movie. It was also 2 hours and 6 minutes long which is way too much for this type of movie. I feel like it would have been more enjoyable had it been like an hour and 20. If you watched the trailer from the first question, do you feel this would be a more light hearted movie?

4. I tried searching information about whether the criminal, Jeffrey Manchester, who the story was based on received any type of payment for his story. I found that it isn't likely as he is still in jail and because his story is public domain. Do you think the criminals these types of stories are created around deserve some compensation for their story?
