In 2006 President Bush reported he was told by NASA it would take 20 years, regardless of cost, before they could "be ready" to launch a manned mission to the Moon (not Mars). Not since the last Apollo mission has a manned spacecraft even attempted to leave Earth's orbit, probably the only instance in the modern age where technology has seemed to go in reverse (it took only 8 years to accomplish in the 1960's starting almost from scratch). In this light some doubt we ever really went to the Moon, that it was all a hoax. Do you believe it is possible that it was a hoax?

Regardless of your answer to the first question do you believe humankind should now try to land a human on the Moon as a prelude to a manned mission to Mars?
