After recently learning that Taylor Swift broke the Grammy record held by Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder for each having won solo artist "Album of the Year" 3 times, I was curious which Sinatra songs had been honored. During that research, I came across some random information that surprised me.

Frank Sinatra was a singer and Academy Award-winning actor who created 59 albums in a career that spanned 60 years. Reading his list of Grammy wins and 31 nominations, I was surprised to see that he didn't win for his trademark song, "My Way". Does that surprise you, too?

Sinatra performed his last concert in 1995. Three years later, after his second heart attack at 82, Sinatra was rushed to the hospital. His wife, Barbara Marx Sinatra only notified Frank's manager. He was at Frank's side when his died a few hours later, not Frank's daughters as reported. They only learned their father was sick when a doctor called Tina to report his death. Daughter Nancy said her stepmother, " . . . did not tell us he was dying, we did not know until after he was dead and we were five minutes from the hospital." Was Barbara's behavior appropriate? Regardless of whatever issues there were between the stepmother and Sinatra's kids, Barbara should have contacted them when Frank was admitted to the hospital.

When I read that Sinatra's gravestone had a song title on it, I was surprised to learn that it was not "My Way". But I admit, "The Best is Yet to Come", is more apt (along with the phrase, "Beloved Husband and Father"). Do you enjoy seeing clever engravings on headstones?
