Musical Discoveries Part 3

Thought I would do a series on more current music you here may or may not know, and may want to check out to expand your musical tastes. If you want to listen to oldies, YouTube has you covered. But I'm sure some of you would like to check out some new stuff. These two are a little bit different than my usual tastes in music, as I usually like the more laid back indie sound.
1. The Beaches is a all-female rock band formed in Toronto, who just won the Juno (Canadian version of the Grammys) for Group of the Year in 2024 and 2025. The group consists of the Miller sisters, Jordan and Kylie, plus original member Eliza Enman-McDaniel and newer member Leandra Earl. Originally named Done With Dolls, they changed their name to The Beaches, named after the Toronto neighbourhood three of them grew up in. They are touring right now, and according to my daughter, "put on a very energetic, fun show". A bit different than the music I usually listen to, but I like them. They sound just a little retro, but in a fresh way. If you listen to the video, what do you think?

2. Max McNown is a country singer who released his debut single in 2023, and says his goal is to use music to unite people—especially those who may disagree on other things. Now, I'm not a country music fan, but I can certainly get behind that message. And, I find his sound quite appealing. Since he's newer on the scene, he doesn't have a lot of songs out, but I really like the ones I have heard. This is my favourite one. If you listen to the video, what do you think?
