1. Here's Roy Rogers singing the title song from his 1945 movie, "Along The Navajo Trail". I like the tune--it kind of blends a western song with a little big band sound. My father enjoyed the fusion of big band and country a favorite in the post war years in the Okanagan. Roy Rogers was a multi-talented man--film & TV actor, singer, guitarist, and TV personality. He was a founding member of The Sons Of The Pioneers, and made nearly 100 movies. I've always enjoyed the movie he made with Bob Hope, "Son of Paleface". (Bob and Trigger sharing a bed is hilarious!) Do you remember Roy Rogers?

2. "Across The Alley From The Alamo" by the Mills Brothers with Lyrics; was written by Joe Greene. Greene composed the song in 1946, reportedly after a dream, and it became a jazz standard and a popular release for The Mills Brothers in the late 1940s. I loved to sit beside my father and sing this song with him. My favorite part was the "toot toot" I loved that part! Have you heard this song before?

3. Judy Garland - On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe written by Johnny Mercer, Harry Warren, February 17, 1944 Written for the MGM motion picture "The Harvey Girls", which premiered on January 18, 1946. My father played this song often. I asked him where these places were and he showed me on a map. Are you a fan of Judy Garland?

4. When Susan Bradley (Judy Garland) responded to an ad in New Mexico for a mail-order bride, she had no idea that her would-be husband was a broken-down cowhand. Instead of returning back home, she takes a job at the local Harvey House restaurant. But the new establishment faces tough resistance from the local saloon owner (John Hodiak) and the town's streetwise showgirl, Em (Angela Lansbury). As Susan works with the Harvey girls to win over the townsfolk, she also searches for a new love. Winner of 4 Awards including the Oscar for Best Song - Have you seen "The Harvey Girls"?

5. Horsing Around - Son Of Paleface (1952) Here is the clip: Bob and Trigger sharing a bed is hilarious! Are you a fan of ....?
