Authentic fois gras {fatty liver} is produced by force feeding ducks and geese a fatty substance through a tube inserted down the animals throats. Gentleness is not a consideration if profit driven mass production is the goal. These animals live with injuries, damaged organs and pain until they are slaughtered or die a slow death. Having learned this, could you still eat fois gras? Yes
