Although there are no gas stations within 30 miles, the site does have a Visitors Center offering food and Native American artwork and crafts that can be purchased directly from the artisans. Entry fee for the monument site is $8. Would you travel 10 miles out of your way to see the monument?

The lines were surveyed and marked in the 1860's, when the US Congress acted to break the huge area into more governing bodies to help to deter the spread of slavery in the area. A survey of 1875 was accepted by all the states, and the division is legally binding. Visitors have devised a variety of positions to enable themselves to be in all four states at the same time. Hypothetically, if you visited the monument, would you manipulate your body into Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah at the same time?
