2. I have one that retails for around 50.00. It's not working properly and there is not a clog. It's possible that a belt needs to be replaced. Given the fact that it's a 50.00 vacuum cleaner, should I just go and buy a new one or try to diagnose the problem and fix it myself, if possible?
Buy a belt and see if that works and if not, keep investing time in it until the problem is possibly fixed.

Replace it with another 50.00 vacuum cleaner. You get what you pay for and it's not worth the time or trouble fixing them.

Invest in an expensive vacuum cleaner and hope that it doesn't crap out anytime soon.
